Dropped $200 on a retractable awning and it ripped in 8 months

Was supposed to be heavy duty fabric but the seams just gave up after a windy afternoon, anyone else get burned by those Amazon specials?

Blame the wind not the awning that's just bad luck.

Saw some article saying wind can get under awnings and lift them like a sail.

Yep wind is no joke with those things. Once it gets underneath it's basically a parachute pulling on your house.
