I finally tried planting a small clover patch instead of grass.

Put down a $20 bag of microclover seed in a 10x10 foot area last spring. It's way softer underfoot and I haven't mowed it once. Anyone know if it'll handle a dog running on it?

Honestly my dog would probably dig it up before he could run on it. That little guy treats my yard like his personal archeology site. But from what I've read, clover is pretty tough once it gets going. Should bounce back fine from some zoomies. My main worry would be if he decides it's a snack bar.

Hah, yeah @skyler_kelly69, my old dog used to do that... she'd dig a hole and then just stare at it like she'd accomplished something. Clover's pretty tough though, might outlast the snacking phase.

So is your dog actually eating the clover or just digging? Mine tried both and the snacking was way worse for the lawn lol
