Pro tip: string lights vs. hardwired patio lighting, my pergola story

Ngl, I spent 4 hours last Saturday rerouting string lights over my deck in Austin after a storm knocked half of them down. They look nice, but every spring I'm re-hooking clips and replacing bulbs, and the sag is always worse by July. A buddy of mine hardwired LED strip lights under his pergola beams two years ago and says he's touched them once since. Is the extra cost for an electrician worth skipping the yearly mess, or am I just bad at hanging string lights?
