Rant: That cheap fire pit from the big box store was a total waste
I bought a $80 metal fire pit last fall, thinking it would be fine for a few seasons. After maybe ten uses, the bottom is already rusted through and warped from the heat. I should have just saved up for a proper stone or cast iron one. What's a good fire pit that actually lasts more than one year?

Eighty bucks for ten fires isn't that crazy if you break it down. It's basically eight dollars a use for a cheap thing you knew was cheap. Those pits are basically disposable decor, not real outdoor gear. You get what you pay for, and expecting it to last was the real mistake. Just grab another one or accept that a real pit costs real money.

My Solo Stove Bonfire has seen over 200 fires and still looks new. Cost more upfront, but the steel is thick and it has a lifetime warranty. Zero regrets skipping the cheap stuff.

Look, I just don't agree that calling something "disposable decor" makes it okay. Plenty of us buy a basic fire pit hoping it lasts a few seasons for casual use, not ten fires. Saying the buyer made a "mistake" for expecting that feels like blaming them for a product that just wasn't built right. There's a big middle ground between a total junk pit and a super expensive one, and companies should aim for that.

Nah, I mean ten uses still feels pretty weak to me, evafoster.
