Shoutout to the hornet nest I found 2 feet from my back door in Fresno
Last Tuesday I walked out to water the tomatoes and heard this low buzzing right by the screen door, looked up and there was a paper nest the size of a cantaloupe hanging under the eave. I grabbed the hose and sprayed it from 10 feet away like an idiot, which just made about 30 of them come straight at me, and I got stung twice on the neck before I made it back inside. Waited until dark, put on a hoodie and long pants, and hit it with a can of wasp spray from the hardware store, then knocked the nest down with a broom handle the next morning. Check your eaves and door frames right now, those things go up fast in this heat, and if you have a nest that size near a doorway do you spray it at night or call someone?

Buddy's dog got hit 5 times, night spray saved him.
