Tried planting mint directly in the ground instead of a pot last spring - huge mistake

Thought I was being clever by saving $12 on a container. Now mint is taking over half my raised beds and my wife's tomato plants are drowning in it. Anyone else got a plant they wish they'd kept confined?

Guess you learned the hard way that mint doesn't need a container, it needs a concrete bunker." Mint is basically the herpes of the garden, spreads fast and never really goes away.

Mint's a nightmare, feel your pain. That stuff laughs at containers and spreads like crazy, it's relentless. Solidarity from someone who still finds rogue mint shoots popping up years later.

Double down on what @fionat55 said, mint is basically the herpes of the garden, spreads fast and never really goes away.
