That one time I ruined a batch of macarons at a neighbor's bake sale
I was helping at a bake sale in my neighborhood last spring and decided to make macarons. I forgot to age my egg whites and they came out all cracked and lumpy. Does anyone have a trick for fixing runny batter without starting over?

...and that's what gets me, you know? It's like that thing where you try to save time by skipping a step and it ends up costing you double. For macarons, you can't really fix runny batter once it's mixed. The structure is already broken down. But here's the thing I've noticed with cooking and with life in general, sometimes the best thing to do is just start over, even if it hurts your pride. It's like trying to patch a hole in a bucket with tape, you're just wasting more time than if you got a new bucket.

Sounds like @joseph48 nailed it, skipping steps always bites you in the end.
