Can we talk about that one Wednesday where everything actually went right?
I had this wild day three weeks ago where my morning client paid early, my afternoon meeting got cancelled (so I took a nap), and I actually hit 5K words before dinner. It was so weird I didn't even know how to act, you know? Like normally I'm fighting with a slow laptop or getting ghosted on DMs, but that day just flowed. Has anyone else had a day where the freelancing gods smiled on you, and how did you handle it without waiting for the other shoe to drop?

That whole "waiting for the other shoe to drop" thing is so real... I've had days like that where everything clicks and I'm just waiting for the universe to remind me why it's usually a dumpster fire. Usually I just stay quiet and don't tell anyone because I'm scared I'll jinx it. But honestly, when it happens, I just ride the wave and try to get as much done as possible before the chaos comes back. It's like a weird little gift that you can't question too much or it'll disappear.

Yeah the "jinx it" part hits hard. My friend had one of those perfect days last spring, everything just went right at work and then she mentioned it to her husband that night and the next morning her car wouldn't start. So now she's superstitious about it too, keeps her mouth shut and rides the wave like you said.

You know what nobody's talking about though? Those perfect days can actually mess with your head in a bad way. I've had a couple of them over the years, and I ended up setting this crazy high bar for myself after each one. Like suddenly I'm expecting every single Wednesday to be that smooth, and when it's not, I feel like I'm failing. It's almost easier to just have a steady stream of mediocre days because at least the expectations are manageable. I've caught myself almost resenting those perfect days for showing me what could be possible, which is a weird thing to admit. So sometimes I handle them by literally telling myself "this is a fluke, don't get used to this" before I even enjoy the moment.
