Coffee shop in Portland made me rethink my whole work setup

I've been working from home for 2 years and swore I couldn't focus anywhere else, but last week I tried this little place called Common Grounds. Turns out background noise and other people working actually helps me stay on task instead of getting distracted by my own fridge. Anybody else find a weird work spot that changed how you handle burnout?

Five years of working next to a public library and you haven't switched spots once? That's wild to me, I would've lost my mind after the first week with all those crinkling chip bags. I guess if you've found a way to tune out the chaos more power to you, but I'd be too busy counting how many times that kid drops their backpack to get any actual work done.

Library noise apps are good but nothing beats real strangers shuffling around you.

I actually live right next to a public library and I've been going there to work for like 5 years now. Idk, maybe it's just me but I find real people way more distracting than helpful. There's always that one person who crinkles their chip bag super loud or the kid who keeps dropping their backpack. The apps let me control exactly what I hear and I can turn off the sounds I hate. I mean, there's something nice about the idea of real human presence but in practice it just makes me anxious.
