Finally stopped saying yes to every tiny revision request and it saved my sanity

I used to do unlimited revisions for clients because I thought it was good service, but last month a design client in Austin asked me to tweak the same logo 12 times and I nearly quit. Now I cap revisions at 3 per project in my contract and give them a flat rate for extras does anyone else struggle with setting those boundaries?

Stopped doing unlimited revisions about two years ago and it was the BEST thing for my business. I had one client who asked for 8 different versions of a simple flyer design and I felt like I was losing my mind. Now I do exactly what you do - 3 revisions included, then a flat fee for any extra rounds. I also started asking clients to put all their feedback in ONE email instead of sending random requests every few hours. It took some practice but now I tell them upfront that changes outside the scope cost extra and most people actually respect it once they see the price. Your sanity matters more than a client who cant make up their mind.

Omg "put all their feedback in ONE email" yes please. I swear some clients treat your inbox like their personal group chat where every thought needs its own message. One time I had someone send 6 separate feedback emails in 45 minutes each one changing something they said in the last one. I finally told them revisions cost extra after the 3rd round and suddenly they could make decisions just fine. Its wild how clients can learn to be decisive real quick when money is involved. Honestly @fionat55 you are living the dream with those 3 revision limits.

Ha, 12 times for a logo? I would’ve lost it after the second tweak and probably started charging them per pixel.
