Hit 30 client projects in one year and felt nothing
I hit 30 completed projects last December and instead of feeling accomplished I just felt exhausted. It was a random Tuesday when I noticed the number on my spreadsheet and I didn't even celebrate. That's when I realized I was just grinding for the number instead of actually enjoying the work. Has anyone else gotten to a milestone and just felt empty about it?

treating milestones like they'd fill some hole" - that hit. I started tracking progress in my head instead of on paper. Made me slow down and actually feel the wins when they happened. Nobody sees that tally but you. You gotta find satisfaction in the work itself.

I get what you're saying but I actually think hitting that many projects is something to be proud of... maybe the emptiness is more about expecting it to fix something deeper. I hit 20 last year and felt the same letdown until I realized I was treating milestones like they'd fill some hole that numbers can't fill. Sounds like you're doing good work even if it doesn't feel electric every time.

Wait, 30 projects in one year? That's insane. I had to read that twice to make sure I wasn't seeing things. That's like doing a new project every 12 days with no breaks in between. No wonder you felt empty, your brain was probably running on fumes by December. Most people would burn out after 10, let alone three times that.
