I blocked off every Friday for a month to do nothing but admin stuff, and it backfired in a way I didn't see coming.

I thought batching all my invoices, emails, and planning into one day would free up my brain, but by week three, I was dreading Fridays more than any client deadline and felt more stressed, so has anyone else tried a big schedule change that totally flopped?

Oh man, I tried something like that and just ended up staring at a wall. Turns out a whole day of small tasks feels like a prison sentence. My brain just shuts down and rebels.

But what if the method itself is the problem?

Blocking a whole day sounds like a solid plan that just needs tweaking... maybe you gave up too soon. Karenc20 saying her brain shuts down is a sign she didn't build the right habits around it. The dread probably comes from seeing it as a prison instead of setting small wins, like finishing invoices before a coffee break. Sometimes the method isn't wrong, we just need to push through the initial discomfort to make it work. A rigid schedule can feel bad at first but often pays off if you stick with it.
