I bought a $300 planner system that just made me more stressed

It was one of those fancy ones with stickers and color codes and a whole hour-long setup video... I spent a week trying to make it work before I gave up. Has anyone found a simple way to track projects that doesn't feel like a second job?

That system works if you actually follow the hour long video. The problem is you gave up after a week, which isn't enough time to build a new habit. A complex tool needs a real commitment to become simple.

Oh come ON, it's a planner not a spaceship.

So you're saying a week isn't enough time to judge a new system. What's the real minimum commitment before you can call it quits?

Remember my buddy who spent a whole paycheck on a fancy camera, then got so caught up in learning every setting he never took a single photo. Sounds like your planner. Sometimes the tool gets in the way of the actual work. I just use a cheap notebook now and scribble three things I need to do each day, and it finally gets done.
