Last Tuesday was my worst freelance day in 6 months

I had three deadlines hit at once and my laptop froze for 45 minutes during a Zoom call with a client. By 4 PM I just sat on my porch and stared at a tree for 20 minutes. Has anyone else had a day where you just had to stop and walk away from everything?

Read an article recently that said our brains actually NEED those blank moments to reset. That stare at the tree was probably your system doing a hard reboot. It happens to everyone who pushes too hard, so don't beat yourself up about it.

Yeah exactly, Paige gets it. Those blank moments aren't you breaking down, they're your brain's way of hitting the reset button. It's like when your phone gets laggy and you gotta force restart it. I've noticed it happens worst when I've been grinding on the same problem for hours without a break. The minute I step back and just stare at the wall or out the window, the solution pops into my head like magic. That's your subconscious working in the background while your conscious mind takes a breather.

Is it bad that my "reset button" usually kicks in right when I'm about to type something important and I just sit there like a goldfish? Honestly, mine happens most when I'm trying to remember why I walked into a room, which is like a daily hard reboot at this point. Tbh I should probably just embrace it, my brain's basically running on 2% battery most days.
