Read a study that said 70% of freelancers feel lonely, and it hit me hard
I found this in a report from a freelance union site last month. It was a survey of 500 people. I always thought my stress was just about money or deadlines. But seeing that number made me realize how much working alone in my apartment messes with my head. How do you guys deal with the isolation part of the job?

That number is actually lower than I would have guessed. Only 500 people in the survey feels like a tiny sample to me. The loneliness is the worst part of this job, hands down. It creeps up on you after weeks of just talking to your cat. Forcing myself to work from a library or coffee shop a few times a week made a big difference. Just being around other humans, even if you don't talk to them, helps break up that empty feeling.

Coffee shops are my go-to spot too, but how do you handle the background noise when you need to focus? I find it tough to concentrate with all the chatter and espresso machines going.
