Serious question, a client in Denver said something that made me stop taking calls on Sunday.
I was cleaning his house last month and he saw me check my phone for a work text. He just said, 'Your time off is your real profit.' It hit me hard. How do you actually make yourself stop working?
That client was onto something for real. My old boss used to email at 10pm and expect replies, it felt like the job never ended. Turning off notifications after 6pm was the first step, but the real trick was leaving my work laptop in a closet on Friday. Out of sight, out of mind, you know? You have to make it physically hard to just "check one thing.
