That $400 standing desk frame that turned my studio into a nap zone

I bought an adjustable standing desk frame back in March thinking it would fix my afternoon slump, you know, the usual freelancer 2pm crash. Total cost was around $400 including the top I already had, and honestly for the first two weeks I felt like a productivity god. Then the novelty wore off and I realized I was just switching between sitting and standing while still doomscrolling on my phone. What actually saved my burnout was blocking off 11am to 1pm as a real lunch break where I walk to the park near my apartment in Austin, no screens at all. The desk just sits at the same height now, and I feel kind of dumb for spending that cash on a glorified shelf. Has anyone else thrown money at a wellness gadget only to find the fix was way simpler and cheaper? What's the most useless thing you've bought during a burnout spiral?

Realized the same thing after dropping $300 on a fancy white noise machine that I now use maybe twice a month. My actual fix for the mental fog was just taking my dog for a longer walk around the block, no music, no phone, just looking at trees. It's wild how we'll throw money at gear before trying the free stuff like sunlight and movement. That desk will probably sit there as a reminder, but at least now I know what my body actually needs. Maybe we should start a support group for people with expensive shelves that happen to move.
