That one Tuesday where everything actually went right for a change
Had this random Tuesday last month where I finished 2 big editing jobs by noon, got a same-day revision request that took 15 minutes, and then landed a 3 month retainer from a referral I didn't even know was coming. I was so used to the grind that I actually felt suspicious, like something bad was about to happen. Made about $700 in 6 hours which is like double my usual pace. But the weirdest part was I didn't know what to do with myself after. Has anyone else had a day so good it actually threw off your rhythm?

Feeling suspicious after a good day" is exactly how I felt last month. It's almost like your brain gets wired to expect problems so when everything actually works you don't trust it. I get the part about not knowing what to do with yourself too, that empty feeling is weirdly unsettling.

I read something the other day about how our brains are programmed to expect the worst when things go well for too long. It's like that survival instinct where you're always waiting for the other shoe to drop. The empty feeling you mentioned is so real too - I saw a therapist online say that when we're used to chaos, peace feels foreign and almost wrong. It takes time to unlearn that cycle of waiting for disaster.

@jennybailey nailed it. Best fix is to enjoy the good days and ignore the brain's panic.
