That Thursday I almost threw my laptop out the window

I had three urgent projects all due by 5 PM, and my main client's payment portal crashed. I mean, I was staring at a screen for 12 hours straight without even a lunch break. Has anyone else had a day where everything just broke at once?

Honestly sounds like a planning issue to me. I always build in buffer time for tech problems and never take three urgent deadlines in one day. You gotta set clearer boundaries with clients or this keeps happening.

But what happens when the client moves the goalposts at the last minute... you can't always control their side of things. Building in buffer time is smart, but sometimes the urgent stuff is truly out of your hands, like a server going down. How do you actually enforce those boundaries when saying no could mean losing the client for good?

My friend lost a client over that "server going down" thing @tessap97, but he said the constant emergencies were already costing him more than the contract was worth.
