That time a former client asked if I was 'still freelancing' at the grocery store

Ran into an old client at Kroger last month and he asked if I was still freelancing like it was a phase I'd grow out of. The look on his face when I told him my rates have doubled since we worked together was worth the awkward aisle chat.

...and then @lisas78 the guy asked if I was still enjoying the "flexibility" like I was a college kid with a side hustle. I told him I just finished a kitchen remodel where my "hobby" paid for my whole new truck. Funny how quick the tone changes when you mention the bank account.
