The moment I realized my 10-hour workdays were the problem, not the solution

Last November I was pulling 10 hour days for 3 months straight for a client in Seattle. I thought I was being dedicated. Then my partner showed me my sleep tracking data from my watch I had 4 hours of deep sleep a night. That's when I clicked that I wasn't working harder I was just burning out slower. Has anyone else had a health metric tip them off before they hit a wall?

Did you see that study about how sleep deprivation makes you 30% less productive?

OH geez, 30% is a lot. But does that study actually control for the type of work? Like, I bet it hits creative or thinking jobs way harder than something like a factory line where you're on autopilot anyway.
