This time last year I was working 70 hour weeks like a dummy

Tbh I used to think hustling harder was the only way to make it as a freelancer. 3 years ago I was taking every gig that came my way, even the $50 ones. Last summer I crashed hard after a 3 week stretch where I barely slept. Now I cap my hours at 45 a week and actually take Sundays off. Has anyone else found their breaking point and actually stuck to the change?

Those $50 gigs will eat you alive if you let them. I did similar math a few years back and realized I was spending more time chasing invoices than actually doing good work. What was the one thing that finally made you say "enough" and actually set that 45 hour cap?

That $50 gig math is brutal when you factor in the back and forth emails and revisions that always come with the cheap clients. Realizing I was making less than minimum wage on those jobs made it way easier to just say no and raise my rates.

That 3 week stretch sounds brutal, I'm really glad you found a better balance.
