Vent: That $400 standing desk I bought really helped... until it didn't
I got this fancy electric standing desk 8 months ago thinking it'd fix my back pain from freelancing. Cost me $400 and now the motor just hums and won't move up or down. Has anyone else had a big purchase that was supposed to reduce your stress but ended up just burning you out more?

Maybe just unplug it and plug it back in before declaring bankruptcy.

tbh i dont get why everyone's acting like this is some huge life or death thing. yeah computers crash sometimes, it sucks, but bankruptcy? come on. thats like burning your house down because you stubbed your toe. i feel like half the people posting here just want to make a simple fix sound way more dramatic than it actually is. maybe just try the basic stuff first and see if it helps before you start talking about major financial moves lol.

Cracked up at "burning your house down because you stubbed your toe"... that's basically me when my wifi drops for five seconds and I start looking at backup generators online...

Jumping in here because this is EXACTLY the kind of thinking that saves people from losing their MINDS over technology. I swear, half the time my computer acts up I start planning my funeral and then I remember "oh yeah, I can just unplug the router for 30 seconds." It's like people forget that basic troubleshooting exists. The amount of times I've seen someone spiral into "I need a new laptop" over a stuck update is CRAZY. But no, let's skip the simple fix and go straight to burning down the house like that guy said.
