Why does nobody talk about setting a hard stop on your work day? I tried it for a month and it saved my brain.

Saved my brain" is such a real way to put it. I started shutting my laptop at 6pm no matter what, and the first week was hard. But now that evening time actually feels like mine again.

Omg yes the first week is literally just you staring at the wall wondering what to do with your hands lol. I kept opening my laptop back up out of pure muscle memory. But now my brain actually shuts off around 6 and it is the best thing ever. My evening self is like "who is this free person??" while my morning self hates that I didn't answer one more email. Small price to pay for not burning out though.

Yeah the "feels like mine again" part hits hard. I mean it's crazy how work can just take over your whole day if you let it. That first week is rough but sticking to a hard stop is so worth it. Idk maybe it's just me but having that clear line makes such a big difference. You actually get to turn off and be a person.
