A client told me my invoices were "a wall of text" and she was right
I run a small cleaning business here in Portland and for 3 years I sent one long paragraph invoice with everything jammed together. Rent, supplies, mileage, all of it in one blob. Last month a property manager I've worked with since 2019 said she almost missed a $340 charge because it blended into the rest of the email. That stung but she was right. Now I use a free template with actual line items and a due date at the very top in bold. I also stopped burying the total at the bottom. My average wait time for payment went from 26 days down to 11 days, which is nuts. If you're still writing your invoices like a letter, break it up. What format do you all use, plain PDF or something with a pay button in it?
