Found out sending invoices on a Tuesday gets me paid 3 days faster
I read a study from FreshBooks that said invoices sent on Tuesday get paid 3.2 days faster on average than ones sent on Friday. I run a small repair shop in Phoenix and always used to batch my invoices Friday afternoon, thinking it didn't matter. Switched to Tuesday morning and my average payment time dropped from 18 days to about 14 days in just two months. Has anyone else seen a difference based on what day you send bills?

Gotta disagree with you on this one. I've been running my own plumbing business for around 5 years now and I send invoices any day of the week, sometimes late at night. What matters way more is having clear payment terms on the invoice itself and a quick way for them to pay online. Tuesdays or Fridays, my slow payers are still slow regardless of the day, and my fast payers pay within 48 hours either way.

Wait, @gray314 you send invoices late at night? Like at 11 PM on a Tuesday?

Yeah, I back you up on this. I'm with @lisas78 on wondering about timing, but I actually started doing the Tuesday thing too after reading similar stuff. I invoice for my tutoring biz and used to send them out Sunday night thinking it was fine. Switched to Tuesday morning and now I notice people pay me more like 10 days instead of 2 weeks. I think it's because my clients are in work mode on Tuesday and see the invoice right away, not buried under weekend junk. Your experience totally matches mine, and I bet a lot of people are sleeping on this simple shift.
