I just found a stack of my own unpaid invoices from two years ago.
I was cleaning out a filing cabinet at home and found a folder labeled '2022 Clients'. Inside were about 15 invoices I'd printed, stamped, and... apparently never mailed. I must have been waiting for the 'right time' to go to the post office. One was for a $1200 logo design for a bakery that's since closed. The moment I saw them, I realized my whole 'paper trail' system was just a trail to my own desk. I've been using email for everything since last year, thank goodness. Has anyone else ever lost money because of their own weird admin habits?

That "paper trail to my own desk" line is painfully real. Read a thing once about "admin debt," where small tasks pile up into real costs. Your lost bakery invoice is a perfect example. It's not just being forgetful, it's a system that actively hides work from you. Switching to email probably feels like a huge relief. Paper just sits there quietly, but an email inbox demands to be seen.

Ugh, admin debt is the worst.

Actually, email inboxes are the real problem. They demand to be seen so much that they create constant noise and stress. A physical paper stack on your desk is a quiet, clear list you can touch and sort once. Email just floods you with new demands every minute, making it way easier for important things to get buried in the digital pile.
