Invoice sat in their spam folder for 3 weeks...
Sent a bill for $840 to a landscaping company out of Phoenix back in April. Called to check on payment and they said they never got it, so I resent it and they paid the next day. Turns out their email filter was blocking attachments from anyone not in their contacts. Has anyone else had invoices vanish into spam like that?

$840 in spam for 3 weeks? That's wild man. @wesley639 I get what you're saying about filters but three weeks is a long time for a real invoice to just sit there. Most small businesses I deal with check their spam at least once a week because they know something important might slip through. I've had clients tell me they search their spam folder for my company name before calling me to ask about a missing payment. It seems like this landscaping company could have avoided the whole thing by just looking once a week. Three weeks of waiting just to find out it was in spam the whole time is pretty rough.

lol honestly i can't really blame them for having a spam filter though. $840 invoice from some random email address, i'd probably have a filter set up too if i ran a small business and got random bills all the time.

Wesley you're probably right but I've been there too. Had a similar thing happen last year when a client sent me a $1200 invoice that got flagged as spam. I reached out through their website contact form and explained who I was and attached the invoice again. They checked their spam folder and found my original email. Turns out the filter caught it because of the all-caps subject line I used. After that I started calling first before sending anything important. Small business owners are just trying to keep things running and filters help them avoid getting scammed. Did you ever get them to pay in the end?
