Last Tuesday was a nightmare with a client who took 90 days to pay a $450 invoice

I finally got paid yesterday for a job I did back in January. This client kept saying 'the check is in the mail' every time I called (which was like 8 times). I sent them a final notice with a late fee attached and suddenly they magically found the money. What really got me was they had the nerve to ask for a discount on the next project. Has anyone else had a client who pays super slow but still wants special treatment?

8 calls for one invoice? I'd've lost it after three.

Legit had a client call me 14 times in one afternoon last month because their PDF "wasn't loading" on their end. Turned out they were trying to open it in Notepad. The 14th call they admitted they didn't know what a PDF reader was. Companies need to put a hard cap on callbacks for the same issue before someone loses their mind.

Haha "the check is in the mail" is the biggest lie since "I'll call you right back." Honestly I think some clients treat the money like it's optional. The part that gets me is the nerve to ask for a discount after stringing you along for three months. Like congrats you finally paid what you owed, here's a cookie. I'd tell em my discount is the late fee waiver if they pay upfront next time.
