Overheard a client say my invoice was "too detailed" and I'm still confused

Last Tuesday I was on a call with a regular client in Portland and they mentioned my line-item breakdown looked like a grocery receipt. They pay within 10 days every month, but said the extra detail made them double-check everything. I trimmed it down to just the service name and total, and they paid in 2 days. Has anyone else found that less info actually speeds up payment?

Three clients ago I cut my invoices from 12 lines down to 3 and noticed payments dropping from weeks to days. The old itemized list made people feel like they were being nickel and dimed, especially when they saw things like "project management" or "revisions included." Now I list the main service, a flat number, and the due date plain and simple. If they want a breakdown they ask, but most folks just want to know what they owe and when.
