Stopped chasing a $600 invoice and something weird happened

Had a landscaping client back in March that owed me $600 for a paver patio job. I sent them like 5 reminders over 2 months, even offered a payment plan. Nothing. Finally I just wrote it off as a loss and moved on. Then out of nowhere last week they Venmo'd me the full amount with a note saying sorry for the delay. Has anyone else had a slow payer randomly come through after you gave up on them?

Good for you, I'm glad that worked out. I've had a few similar situations over the years and it always feels like a small miracle when the money finally shows up. It's a good reminder that sometimes people just get overwhelmed and aren't necessarily trying to stiff you.

My buddy had this happen with a guitar he sold on Craigslist. Guy paid $50 deposit then ghosted for like 4 months. Out of the blue he gets the rest in cash with a note that said "sorry my phone broke." People are weird man.
