The $40 invoice template that finally got me paid on time
I got tired of chasing two clients for 60 days each last fall, so I paid a local bookkeeper $40 for a simple invoice template with a payment link and late fee line. First time I used it, one guy paid in 3 days instead of 6 weeks. The late fee notice popped up automatically when he hit 15 days, and that alone covered the template cost. It's not fancy, but the wording makes it feel official, less like a friend asking for a favor. Has anyone else tried adding automatic late fees or payment links, and did it actually change behavior?
