Vent: Had to pick between chasing a $2,500 invoice and keeping a steady $1,200 monthly retainer from the same client
I chose to let the invoice slide after they promised to pay next quarter, and now they just sent another $800 project my way so it worked out, but has anyone else gambled on a slow payer and actually won?

Yeah, that "paid eventually but then ghosted" thing hits close to home. I had a buddy who went after a big invoice, chased it for months, finally got paid, and then the client acted like he was the bad guy for asking what they owed. After that, they sent him one more tiny job and then just vanished. So he won that round but lost the whole game in the end. Did yours at least stay friendly after they paid up?
