I spent 4 evenings on a show that somehow had zero plot by episode 7

We binged 'The Hollow Grove' over three nights and by the end of episode 7 I realized the whole mystery was just filler for a love triangle, so has anyone else stuck with a series that long before admitting it was never going to pay off?
