Whoa, that's wild. I heard the streaming wars are getting crazy expensive, but that number is hard to even wrap my head around. Do you think it's actually worth it for them?

Netflix spent like $17 billion on content last year, so they clearly think the payoff is there. They're betting that having Must Watch shows keeps people from canceling, which saves them way more than the budget costs over time. Even with high churn, they just need to lock in enough diehards to offset the gamble.

Ngl that $17 billion number still blows my mind every time I see it. Like imagine dropping that much cash on just one thing in a year. I get that they're trying to keep people hooked with big shows like Stranger Things or The Crown but that's still insane money. Honestly I wonder how many subscribers you actually need to lock in to make that math work out. They must be betting on a lot more than just a few diehards to cover that kind of expense.
