My $40 gamble on that weird sci-fi show everyone forgot about

I bought the whole box set of 'The Expanse' after season one because the reviews were wild, but I couldn't stream it. That was like forty bucks. Honestly, the first few episodes were slow and I almost gave up, but by season two I was hooked and watched it all in a week. Has anyone else dropped cash on a physical set of a show that turned out to be a hidden gem, or did you just waste your money?

Forty bucks for a box set is basically a movie ticket and popcorn now, not exactly a high stakes gamble. If you got a whole show you liked out of it, that's a win. People spend more than that on a single takeout meal they forget about.
