My buddy the cable splicer got me thinking last night
He said old shows like Cheers worked because people actually sat and watched them week by week, not all at once on a phone. Made me wonder if binge culture is killing how we connect with characters.

Binge watching is actually way better for connecting with characters. When you watch a show all at once, you stay in that world for days straight, you dream about it, you obsess over every detail because it's all fresh in your mind. Waiting a week between episodes just makes you forget half the little moments that make characters real. The whole "weekly water cooler talk" thing is overrated too because half the time you'd miss an episode and then feel lost for weeks, or you'd be stuck waiting months for a cliffhanger to pay off. Binge culture lets you fall completely into a story without that awkward stop and start nonsense.

Totally agree with you @rivera.hannah. Nothing beats getting lost in a show for a full weekend and noticing all those tiny character moments you'd miss if you had to wait a week. The whole "you forget stuff" thing is real, binge watching just hits different for actually caring about the people in the story.

So you're telling me @rivera.hannah is trying to say that staying up till 3am eating cold pizza and forgetting to shower is somehow the superior way to watch a show? I mean sure, I'll take character connections over a social life any day, but let's not pretend we're doing anything noble here. My judging eyes are on both of you pretending this isn't just an excuse to avoid human interaction for 72 hours straight.
