Ugh, I have to disagree! Sometimes the quiet ones are just quiet because they're boring. My cousin is like that, super reserved, and everyone kept saying he had a secret passion. Turns out, nope, he just likes watching golf and doesn't have much to say. Not everyone is hiding a cool hobby. Some people's inner world is just... kind of empty. Expecting a hidden side sets you up for disappointment.

Reminds me of my old neighbor who kept to himself for years. We finally talked at a block party and he turned out to be a total expert on video game development stories. He explained the whole plot of a show about a game studio, "Mythic Quest", with crazy detail. It was a side of him I never expected to see. You just never know what people are into until the right topic comes up.
