Overheard someone at the bus stop say 'the first 3 episodes are just setup' and it hit me

I was waiting for the 28 bus the other day and this girl told her friend that you gotta push through the first 3 episodes of any show before judging it. It made me think about how many shows I dropped after just 1 or 2 episodes. Anyone else have a show that finally clicked after a rough start?

Does the 3 episode rule apply to shows with terrible first seasons too?

Honestly, does anyone actually finish a show with a terrible first season without someone telling them it gets good? Tbh, I sat through all of The Office season 1 because a friend swore it got funny, and I barely remember anything that happened except that one episode with the fire. Ngl, I probably would've quit after 3 episodes if I didn't have that friend twisting my arm.

Yeah, gotta agree with @colegarcia on that one... the three episode rule gets real shaky with bad first seasons.
