PSA: I stopped watching dramas one episode at a time and started giving a show 3 full episodes before I quit
I used to bail on any new show after one episode if it did not hook me right away, which meant I started like 40 shows and finished maybe 3 of them. About 2 months ago my sister in Columbus got me to try a slow burn mystery and promised the payoff came around episode 3, so I sat through all of them back to back. She was right, and now I block out a whole evening, snacks and all, and give anything new a real shot before I move on. My finished show count went from 3 a year to 11, and I actually remember what happened in them. Has anyone else found that 3 episode rule works, or do you cut bait earlier?
