Rant: Why I think Breaking Bad is overrated as a binge show
I tried watching Breaking Bad for the first time last year and I honestly fell asleep during the first season. Everyone I know says it's the best show ever made but I switched to Ozark instead and finished it in 2 weeks. Am I missing something or is slow pacing just not for everyone?

...and thats the thing, nobody talks about how Breaking Bad is actually a really bad binge show because of how it's structured. Each episode feels like its own little short story with a clear beginning middle and end, so when you try to smash four of them together you just get burned out on the tension. Ozark works better for binging because the episodes bleed into each other more, the plot threads just keep going without a pause. I think people who watched it week by week when it aired had a totally different experience than someone trying to power through it now. So no youre not missing anything, it's just a show that punishes you for trying to watch it too fast.
