Rewatching some 90s sitcoms and the pacing feels so slow compared to now.

I mean, modern shows are cut for binging, but the old ones had charm, maybe it's just me.

Question if pacing speed is that important. Modern shows are built for attention spans now, but old ones had a rhythm that worked for their time. Honestly, both styles have their place, and getting hung up on pace misses the point of just enjoying the show.

Isn't it fair to say pace matters when it kills the fun, as @olivia_perez feels?

Think about why some people can't stand old sitcoms these days. You say both styles have their place, @hunt.jennifer, but does that mean we should just shrug when the pace feels boring? What if the rhythm from back then doesn't grab viewers now? I've tried to watch classics and the pauses are so long I lose focus. That kills the enjoyment because I miss the jokes, so pace really does affect how much fun a show is. Isn't the whole point of enjoying something that it holds your attention, not just that it exists from a different time?

Wait, you think pace doesn't matter? @hunt.jennifer some of those 90s jokes just sit there forever now, it's painful. They really expected us to just stare at a laugh track.
