Spent 12 hours on a show that got canceled after one season

I started watching 'The Lazarus Project' on TNT last month after a coworker swore it was the next big thing. Binge watched the whole 8 episodes over a weekend, got super invested in the time travel plot, and then found out they canceled it with a cliffhanger ending. I wasted a full Saturday and Sunday on something that has zero resolution. Anyone else get burned by a one-season wonder like this?

Hold up, I'm gonna push back on this. A show that only got ONE season is NOT a waste of your time. Think about it like a really good movie that just happens to be 8 hours long. You got a complete story, a cool concept, and a bunch of hours of entertainment for your weekend. That's not nothing. TV shows have always gotten canceled, that's just how the game works. You wouldn't say you wasted two hours watching a movie that will never have a sequel, right? The Lazarus Project gave you something to talk about with your coworker and a fun ride while it lasted. Stop acting like every show needs to run for five seasons to be worth your Saturday.

My buddy Dave got totally burned on that "Altered Carbon" reboot last year... he bought all the merch and even named his cat after one of the characters before they pulled the plug. He spent weeks trying to get people to watch it with him and now just gets mad whenever anyone brings up season two. Still won't throw away that stupid cat t-shirt though.

Man, @sam_cooper your buddy Dave is living my nightmare with that cat t-shirt situation. The Lazarus Project was just like that, I even downloaded a stupid wallpaper for my phone before it got axed. At this point I'm scared to commit to any new show until it has at least three seasons locked in.
