Stayed at a hotel in Portland with free HBO and finally watched The Wire, now I get why people won't shut up about it
Last month I was stuck in Portland for 4 nights for a family thing and the hotel had free HBO on demand. I figured I'd kill an hour with The Wire since people have told me to watch it for like 10 years. Ended up staying up until 2am three nights straight and watched 11 episodes in 4 days. The thing that got me was how nobody on that show is just a good guy or a bad guy, even the cops are a mess. I always thought it was just a cop show but it's really about how every system chews people up. Now I'm back home trying to figure out which season is the best one to argue about. Does the second season hold up or is that the one everyone skips?

Man, same thing happened to me with a hotel marathon, season 2 is worth it.
