Unpopular opinion: I was wrong about 'The Last of Us'

I avoided that show for months because I thought it was just another zombie thing. My friend in Denver kept telling me to watch it, so I finally gave in last week. I was ready to hate it, but the third episode with Bill and Frank completely got me. It wasn't about the infected at all, it was just this beautiful, sad story about two people. That hour changed the whole show for me. I ended up watching the rest in two days. It made me realize I was judging it by its cover. Has anyone else had a show they were sure they'd dislike that totally surprised them?

Missed the first season of Ted Lasso because I thought it was just sportsball. My bad.

My cousin in Phoenix did the same thing with that show. It happens with everything now, not just TV. People see a trailer or read one headline and make up their mind. I do it with new music. Hear one song I don't like and skip the whole album. Missed out on some good stuff that way. We're all just moving too fast to give things a real chance.

Ugh, that's so true. I do the exact same thing with books now, judging them by the cover copy. It feels like we're all stuck in this quick-skip mode and it's honestly kind of sad.
