Furnace lining stats got me second guessing my setup

Was reading through old forge building forums and found out most guys replace their refractory lining every 200 to 300 fires. I've been running mine for about 450 and just patching cracks as they show up. That number surprised me because I figured the ceramic wool was good for way longer if kept dry. Checked my posts and there's some serious heat checking near the burner ports that I've been ignoring. Guess I'm finally ordering a rebuild kit this weekend. Anyone else track their lining hours or just run it till it falls apart?
