Hot take: I spent $600 on a power hammer and wish I hadn't

Everyone says you need a power hammer to save time, but mine sits gathering dust. I do better work with hand hammer control and my shoulders don't ache from chasing the machine. Has anyone else regretted that kind of purchase?

the_drew is right, people act like you can't make a living without one but that's just not true. A lot of the best forged work I've seen was done entirely by hand.

Wait, $600 is a lot to just let it sit there. Why not just sell it for $400 or $500 and cut your losses? Hand hammer work is fine for a lot of stuff. I kind of think people blow the whole "you must have a power hammer" thing way out of proportion.

Wait, you'd seriously let that go for $400? Man, that hand hammer work takes forever and your wrist will feel it the next day, trust me. I've seen guys burn out quick on that stuff when they could have just held out for a better price on a real deal.
