Ruined my first set of tongs last month and my mentor just laughed at me
Last month I tried forging my own tongs from a chunk of 3/4 inch round bar and the reins came out so crooked they looked like a bent fork. My mentor picked them up, laughed, and said 'congrats, now you know what a bad heat looks like' before tossing them in the scrap bucket. How many pairs did it take you guys before one actually held a bite on the anvil?
