Propane's the way to go unless you like rebuilding your roof every spring. @xenabutler and I both found that out the hard way.

...and honestly that's just how most shop decisions go, you pick the thing that sounds cool until the first time you're coughing up soot or scrubbing grease off your ceiling. It's like how everyone with a wood stove learns real fast why the old timers always mention chimney cleaning, the pretty option and the practical option are rarely the same thing. Give me the boring, predictable setup every time, my lungs and my paint job will thank me later.
