Unpopular opinion: I thought propane forges were best, but charcoal changed my view
Switching to charcoal gave me better heat control and a more authentic feel.

Hold up, @the_max, charcoal really helped with control? That's wild! I tried charcoal bags for my closet and they did nothing but stain my clothes. The thought of it being a game-changer is hard to swallow. Your buddy must have some magic touch or a different method. Explain how he used it because I'm genuinely shocked here.
